I would love to see movies within the Indian setting & I don’t care if they’re comedies, drama, tragedy. I hate all the singing & dancing of bollywood though. Is there a place with just movie reviews for non-bollywood movies like Slumdog Millionaire?

I only review Bollywood movies on my site, but I like non-Bollywood Indian movies, too. I would recommend Monsoon Wedding and Water.

I want to start a new channel on youtube that will review Indian movies, provide the latest news and gossip in the Indian Film Industry. But I’m sick and tired of the word "BOLLYWOOD" (initially coined by a UK film critic). Most intellectual people are apalled by the word here in India. Can some one please suggest me some names that are innovative, cool, appeal to western sensibilities and are yet BOLLYWOOD-free?

There are many movie review shows in the US and the UK and I’m sure it is the same on Indian TV. The review concept is something that has already been worked to death

Yes, you should use PHP and MySQL with a script like this. Anything else would require flat files, which would result in a massive amount of files in the end.

I would recommend you to try out Word Press. Yes, I know it’s a blog tool, but it allows your users to sign up, post, comment, and you can download modifications to it which also allows your users to rate the posts (movie reviews/movies themselves) with stars.
Word Press is also well documented, so you won’t have to worry about getting help if you ever need any.

If you want to buy a script (Word Press is FREE), you can check out Movie Reviews script (link in Sources). It costs about $70, and it’ll give you a complete website (design) + system which allows you to add movies, and for your visitors to rate them.
